Yahaira's 30th Birthday

I've spent the last several weeks researching and designing my friend, Yahaira's, 30th birthday party. Actually, correction she is having two 30th birthday parties which I think is so super fab! Yahaira is one of the type of  client everyone dreams about. She told me the colors she wanted: powder pink, citron, mint green and chocolate brown and that it had to be fun and girly. I took her very open-ended suggestions and just ran with it. There are not too many clients that let you design and then respond with a "I love it!" Thank you Yahaira, for choosing me to design your parties, I am having so much fun with them!

Jack is One!

Thunder, tornados, and leaky roofs.  These are the things we were facing on the morning of Jack's first birthday party (which was practically two weeks ago,  but I've been working on a life-consuming paper).  You see, the party was originally supposed to be held near our house at a lovely park on the bay in a historic coral shelter.  The only problem was, the weather.

 With no other choice, the party HAD to happen one way or another, we relocated the festivities to our house.  The challenge was the space since we had not anticipated the move (and were in slight denial about the forecasted rain).  We had a mere 3 hours to prepare everything + get ourselves ready, to say we hustled is an understatement.  With Christie's quick thinking (& some yelling) she laid out the new floor plan and assigned everyone a task (being the oldest sibling, she's been preparing for this role her whole life...love you C (=  )

Our absence is debilitating, I know.

Truth is, I've been working on a life-consuming paper (wish i was kidding), but don't fret, I have a draft of Jack's first birthday festivities saved for ya'll and once I polish it up and make it all sparkly and pretty it'll be worthy of your presence.

Jack is almost one!!!

Bonjour!

This week I may be limited in the posts I share (heck this may be the only one I write for the week). Jack will be turning 1 tomorrow, yikes! I can't believe how quickly time has gone by...I have been very frantic and a little crazy getting everything prepared for his nautical/whale themed birthday party coming up this Saturday.

Coming Soon: Children's Invitations by Llorente Design

Hi Everyone! I wanted to let everyone know that a NEW childrens invitation line is currently in the works over at Llorente Design.  Over the last few weeks, I have been researching different packaging methods, reading, designing and looking at a lot of inspiration. I just love packaging!

Jack's Baptism

It's been so long since my last post. I promise I will update more frequently. The past few weeks have been so hectic, in preparation for Jack's Baptism. I have been designing (always the norm), printing, cutting, folding, you name it! For more information, on where I purchased the cake and other dessert, please go to the bottom of this post.

Last Sunday we celebrated Jack's baptism. I wanted to share some photos of the invitations I designed, and also a few shots of the cake/dessert table.  Enjoy!

Setup the night before the baptism to make sure everything was in place.

 

I gave each guest a thank you favor for attending my son's baptism. The grey boxes each contained a white chocolate shaped cross. This was my first time making boxes from scratch (literally). I used the left over grey card stock I had from the invitations I made and put them to good use. All together I made 30 boxes for the white chocolate and designed labels for them as well. My hands cramped for the next 3 days following the baptism...

Here we are with the very proud godparents! Jack is so lucky to have these two as godparents! I love them!

Hoot Hoot! It's a Boy!

I've been thinking for a while now how I should go about posting my first blog entry. I figured there is no better way than to dive right in and start out with my baby shower I had back in August of 2010 (which is what inspired me in the first place to start a blog). I now have discovered a love of party planning combined with my skills as a graphic designer who loves all things paper! 

Here are some photos of my owl-themed baby shower..

This is the dessert/candy table. I had vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting. I also served macarons, blueberry lollipops, gum balls, raspberry jelly beans and rock candy.

I had a separate section for gifts and a fabulous diaper cake made by Mom and sisters!

Yummy onesie rice crispy treats as a Thank You favor.

Goody bags filled with candy.

Chocolate almonds and jelly beans for guests to munch on. The mini jars were for the guests to take home.
